A story of a mother’s strength

covered by ESPN

I find the story was very compelling already sparking my interest because of the athlete being of the best wide receivers in the league and the title speaking louder than words.  It was interesting because it was a reason why he did things in the games that I didn’t know why and reading and getting a better understanding of it, Leaving my heart heavy, Deandre story was very incredible and how life was a survival for him and how football was a security blanket for him and his family.

The story was so straight to the point on how he was raised and how his mother became blind with a lot of details, having me imagining what he with through as a kid and how he carries himself as a All-Pro Celebrity superstar.

I would say I kinda related to the context of where deandre says “ I don’t care how on how the media and people portrays him” he always going to be him. -Deandre and I feel like everything I do I reflect on my mother as Deandre does on and off the football field.  The writer made me dig in deeper into the story with a lot of descriptive words. Relating to the story my mother is one of my biggest fans when it comes to academics and athletics wanting to see me succeed and seeing me develop to be the better version of myself. As a kid seen my mother go through  alot and go through so many obstacles to we’re I couldn’t help her and seeing her achieve all that being a strong black women I couldn’t ask for a stronger hero.

Sports in my family in my family is something we leaned  on to try to give our parents a better living. My mother had challenges raising her four children in Madison, Illinois and Kansas City, Missouri. The struggles of the environment that we grew up in made it harder for her to protect us and inspire us for a better life.  Taking care of my brother and I at a young age after her divorce made her life more complicated. She practically shaped us to who we are now. We learned to always fin for ourselves and never depend on others. My mother went through obstacles in her life when raising us and too this day I speak highly of her. I will never forget all the sacrifices she made for us and I will always appreciate what she’s given us.
